Pickleball Courts Closed
Tuesday, September 26 - Saturday, September 30

The Pickleball Courts will be temporarily closed from Tuesday, September 26 through Saturday, September 30. The new courts will be painted, and the existing courts will be resurfaced during this time. Resurfacing optimizes player performance by rejuvenating the existing courts and making them feel as new as the two additional courts will feel. The existing courts will reopen Sunday, October 1.

The Pickleball Phase 2 Project will introduce two new pickleball courts at Eastport Park for a total of six courts. We anticipate its completion in late October. These additional courts will greatly enhance the playing experience for Canyon Lake residents, providing more opportunities to enjoy this popular sport.

The dining room at the Lighthouse Restaurant is now closed for phase 2 of the lodge renovation. Dinner is being served in the new “Sunset Lounge & Terrace” during this time. Once complete, the dining room will have a fresh new look that compliments the newly renovated bar. When the restaurant portion is complete, the final and 3rd phase will be the dance floor area  with all new finishes, new lounge furniture, and a fireplace. We are also looking forward to all-new interior and exterior furniture coming next month. Thank you for your patience during this exciting renovation.

Did You Know?

The Davis Stirling Act, which governs all HOAs requires that the Canyon Lake POA maintain a reserve study and healthy reserve funds. The Canyon Lake POA's boards have done a great job of this in recent years, and the money for many of these projects is already in the bank. The Davis Stirling act also requires the Canyon Lake POA to maintain all of the common area amenities. This is one of the Canyon Lake POA's primary obligations. All of this helps maintain healthy property values here in Canyon Lake, and helps modernize this aging 55-year-old community.

Street Parking Reminder

For the benefit of all residents and visitors, we'd like to emphasize the parking regulations in our community. Specificaly, per the Rules & Regulations (GR.5.3), parking is strictly prohibited at any location with curb markings, as well as within a 12-foot radius of a stop sign. This rule is in place to ensure the safety and accessibility of our streets.

We kindly ask for your cooperation in adhering to these rules, as disregarding them may result in a $50 fine. By respecting these parking guidelines, we can all contribute to a safer and more efficient traffic flow in our neighborhood. Your understanding and compliance are greatly appreciated.

School Bus Reminder

School is back in session! As kids return to school, it is important for drivers to remember to stop for school buses and be on the lookout for kids on bikes, skateboards, and other transports commuting to and from school or bus stops. Community Patrol regularly monitors the bus stops throughout the community, and there is a $100 fine for failure to stop at a school bus signal (GR.5.1.n). As always, if you see a driver speeding or driving erratically, please call Community Patrol at 951.246.2721.

Current E-bike Rules

E-bikes have rapidly gained popularity as a convenient and enjoyable mode of transportation in Canyon Lake. However, just like any other form of transportation, it's essential to be aware of rules related to riding e-bikes that will help you stay safe while enjoying your e-bike.

Canyon Lake allows e-bikes that have pedals and pedal assist functionality, a max speed of 20 MPH, and a 750W or less motor (GR.5.2a). Riders under 18 must wear helmets, motorized/non-motorized (GR.5.1j), and all riders must stop for stop signs and school bus signals (GR.5.1n). Additionally, riders should not cross double-yellow lines (GR.5.1p). The curfew for minors (under 18) is 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the prime member is responsible for any behavior and actions of minors (GR.2.11). Further, possession of alcohol by minors anywhere or open containers by any person in a vehicle (including golf carts) is prohibited (GR.2.20). Lastly, speed contests and exhibitions are not permitted (GR.5.1k). Fines for all of these violations range from $50 to $600

Canyon Lake Camera Program

The Security Advisory Committee, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and City of Canyon Lake have collaborated to create the Canyon Lake Camera Program. This is an opportunity that allows community residents with surveillance systems to voluntarily add themselves to a list that Riverside County Sheriff's Department and Canyon Lake POA may refer to if a criminal incident occurred nearby. By signing up for this program, when these criminal incidents occur, the Canyon Lake POA and/or law enforcement may contact you to help solve the crime by requesting to review the video footage your system may have captured.

This program is for Canyon Lake POA members, and members must log in to the website to sign up. Alternatively, email [email protected] to sign up. If emailing, please include your name, address, and tract-lot number.

Lake Emergency Markers

Have you ever noticed the large letter signs that can be seen on the lake at several of the beaches and parks around the community? These letter signs are actually Emergency Locations Markers (ELMs) with latitude and longitude coordinates attached to them. The letters go from A to O. Residents who have an emergency on the lake can refer to the letter when they call 9-1-1. The Canyon Lake Fire Department references these letters so they can determine your location and provide assistance quicker. We recommend that all boaters have a copy of the Emergency Location Markers Map, which includes the physical address of each letter in the event that dispatch requests the address.
